The Basque Government requests the investigation of contaminated waters in different periods of time

Ihobe publishes a technical note requiring potentially contaminated site values in high and low water.

Ihobe, the Basque Government’s Public Company for Environmental Management, has modified the technical requirements for groundwater control and monitoring reports. From now on, when in the process of investigation of a potentially contaminated site an alteration of groundwater quality is detected, sampling will be required in different hydrological periods, i.e. in high and low waters, including the determination of at least those compounds that have exceeded the reference values in previous investigations.

This analytical control aims to obtain more accurate information on the situation of the site, taking into account the variability of the values depending on the period studied.

The results of these investigations will be collected in a final report that will be sent to the environmental body for processing.
