Industria Química magazine highlights our international experience in environmental remediation projects

The trade publication recognises our ability to develop environmental solutions tailored to different sectors, contaminants and site conditions

Industria Química, a leading Spanish chemical industry magazine, has recently published the article Ingeniería ambiental española para responder a desafíos globales” (Spanish Environmental Engineering Rising to Global Challenges), which highlights our international experience delivering environmental remediation projects across Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.

The article points out that while soil and groundwater contamination is a global challenge, effective solutions must be tailored to the specific conditions of each site. Geological, climatic, regulatory and operational factors can vary significantly from one project to the next, making it essential to combine knowledge, research and engineering to identify the most suitable approach.

Within this context, the publication highlights our approach: studying each problem in depth and selecting solutions tailored to it. We bring together applied research, environmental site characterisation, pilot testing, engineering and execution to design remediation strategies that are both efficient and adapted to each project’s needs.

Among the projects featured in the article is one carried out in Chilean Patagonia, where we characterised legacy environmental liabilities linked to former oil production activities. The trials we ran identified a remediation strategy that cut total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) by up to 91% in just thirty days.

Our international track record also includes projects in Kurdistan and Kuwait, where we developed tailored solutions to tackle metal and hydrocarbon contamination. In Kuwait, we took part in designing and commissioning a large-scale bacterial inoculum production system to boost bioremediation of soils affected by historical oil spills.

The article also covers our work protecting sensitive ecosystems, including the design of groundwater contamination control solutions to prevent pollutants from migrating toward coastal areas of the Adriatic Sea.

These projects reflect the sheer range of scenarios we work in and make clear that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to environmental contamination. Every project calls for a clear understanding of how the contaminant behaves, the specific characteristics of the site, and the recovery goals, in order to define the right strategy.

The experience we’ve built up across international projects allows us to apply our knowledge and capacity for innovation to different sectors and settings, combining technology, research and environmental engineering to solve complex environmental challenges.
