Conference on remediation of soil and water contaminated by hydrocarbons.
Marta González Méndez, project manager and responsible for the North Zone of Grupo Tema Litoclean, gave a lecture on March 8 on remediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated soils and waters at the Faculty of Geology of the University of Oviedo.
Marta González, with a degree in geology from the University of Oviedo and a postgraduate degree in hydrogeology from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, presented the different methodologies applicable to the treatment of subsoils impacted by this type of substances. The dissertation also included the development of topics such as the degradation of hydrocarbons located in surface soils and in deeper layers, a key aspect in order to establish possible decontamination solutions.
The event was well attended, with participants from the academic, administrative and private sectors, who expressed their satisfaction at participating in the event and their interest in the topics presented.
