
The conference took place in the city of Lima on July 4 and 5 and was attended by authorities and professionals with extensive local and international experience who participated in the expert panels.
The first block of talks was dedicated to new developments in environmental licensing and industrial safety. On this day, the representative of the Strategies Area of the General Directorate of Environmental Quality of the Peruvian Ministry of Environment (MINAM), gave a lecture on the Instruments for the Management and Certification of Environmental Quality; specialists from the Supervisory Body for Investment in Energy and Mining of Peru (OSINERGMIN) spoke on the implementation of DS 043-2007-EM as an instrument for the management of Industrial Safety, and the manager of Environment, Safety and Quality-E&P Pacífico of the company REPSOL spoke on Integral Risk Management. In this thematic module, experts from TEMA SAC and TEMA S.A., LITOCLEAN’s partner consultancy for safety and environment, presented details on the Impact of the new Special Provisions of the Council of Ministers for Environmental Licensing and on the development of Risk Analysis based on RCA 240-2010-05/CD.
In the second block of conferences, aimed at the Management of soil and groundwater contamination, the Ministry of Environment of Peru (ECA-MINAM) highlighted the Challenges and Solutions of the Administration in the new ECA of Soils, and the head of the Department of Contaminated Soil Management of the Generalitat of Catalonia presented the Methodological Guidelines for Research Technologies as well as the experience in contaminated soil management accumulated over 20 years of the entity’s trajectory. In this section, the general manager of TEMA SAC presented practical cases of Remediation Technologies. Grupo Litoclean actively participated in this panel through its manager, who detailed the methodology of Risk Analysis as a management tool and shared with the audience the vast experience of the company in this field, gathered from its work developed in sites in Europe and Latin America.
The round tables organized during both days facilitated interesting exchanges of ideas and criteria among those attending the event.
