Subsoil contamination by hydrocarbons, xylenes and phthalates from a chemical plant in industrial and residential areas in three different zones, with an estimated area of 300, 500 and 4000 m of land contamination.3.

Objective and limitations

Compliance with remediation objectives according to Mexican regulations and quantitative risk analysis in less than 8 months.

Methodology applied

Chemical oxidation ex situpumping and water treatment.
Point combination with oxidant injection .

Stages:

Oxidant treatability tests (potassium permanganate)
Adequacy of land for ex situ oxidation
Selective soil excavation, water pumping, treatment and infiltration
Ex situ soil oxidation treatment
Oxidant injection wells
Sampling of excavation vessel walls and target certification
Intermediate and final (check) sampling of soils treated on site in situ y ex situ.
