Establishes the requirements that an area must meet in order to be designated as a contaminated site.
The Ministry of the Environment of the Government of Peru is currently updating the regulations for soil control and management of soil contamination treatment. The new regulation will regulate the criteria for the management of contaminated sites.
The draft ECA land decree updates the values published in 2013, to which it adds new ones to be taken into account, and simplifies the process by adapting it to state environmental regulations.
For its part, the draft decree for the management of contaminated soils will replace its predecessors, and leaves aspects of the regulation of deadlines in the hands of the sector. It also determines in concrete terms how to proceed. For the time being, until new guides or manuals are approved, the manuals published in 2014 and 2015 through Ministerial Resolutions remain in force.
The draft decrees of the Environmental Quality Standard for Soil (ECA) and Contaminated Soil Management were published on the Ministry’s website for public consultation.
