The organization of the congress awarded the industrial doctorate poster by Natàlia Blázquez Pallí.
The 15th edition of Aquaconsoil took place from May 20 to 24 in Antwerp (Belgium) and LITOCLEAN did not miss the event. It is one of the most important congresses in the sector on the sustainable use and management of soil, sediment and water resources.
At the event, LITOCLEAN presented two projects developed within the industrial doctorate program, which have been tutored and directed by the company, in collaboration with several universities.
One of them was a scientific research poster by UAB PhD student Natàlia Blázquez Pallí: Bioremediation assessment. Dual C-CL isotopic assessment to elucidate origin, fate, and potential bioremediation treatment of chlorinated methane at two industrial multi contaminate aquifers. This work was recognized with the first doctoral student poster award after the jury reviewed one by one the papers of all participants and listened to the explanations of their authors. The clear and intelligible design and explanation of the poster, together with the convincing defense of the project by Natàlia Blázquez Pallí, won the prize for the best poster of the congress.
The LITOCLEAN doctoral student also gave the presentation Pilot and field scale biological reductive dechlorination, which was a great success among the participants.
This year’s edition of Aquaconsoil was attended by representatives from different European countries as well as from the United States, Brazil and China, among others, confirming it as a prestigious event on an international scale. Sonia Baluk, head of the risk analysis department, was representing LITOCLEAN as one of the reference companies in the sector in Spain. Thus, he had the opportunity to exchange ideas with other attendees from different fields, from suppliers and representatives of other engineering companies, to members of academic entities, control agencies or prestigious international reference institutions.
LITOCLEAN , with its presence in this type of conferences, maintains and reinforces its commitment to be at the forefront, with a continuous updating, both in the learning and application of new technologies and in the challenges posed by the sector.
