Breaking the glass ceiling

On March 8, we celebrate International Women’s Day, a day that has been acquiring a global dimension in both developed and developing countries. Its commemoration has become a unifying element, strengthening support for women’s rights and their participation in the political, social, cultural and economic spheres.

On the business side, at Litoclean we are witnessing a significant and progressive increase in the presence of women in our team and, in particular, in managerial roles. Some 20% of our female staff occupy decision-making positions.

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), in 2023 only 24% of CEO positions in Spanish companies were held by women. We belong to this small portion of the business network, since we have a woman in the Executive Management.

Breaking the glass ceiling in organizations requires commitment and concrete actions that promote the well-being of women and help build an equitable work environment with equal opportunities, which will lead to the consolidation of more prosperous economies. We endorse the motto of the United Nations for this year’s celebration: “Investing in Women: Accelerating the Process.
