A quiet, cabinet-shaped remediation module to fit into space

Litoclean’s technical team has devised a solution for a site with no space.

Soil decontamination projects require customized solutions, including the design of the remediation module. The Litoclean team builds its own equipment and adjusts it to the site characteristics, however complex they may be.

One of the projects the company is working on has required an extra effort in the construction of the remediation module since the site does not have enough space and, in addition, it is located in the center of a large city, which means that the noise level must be within the established parameters so as not to disturb the neighbors.

To meet the objectives, Litoclean’s technical team has created an adapted module by resizing all its elements, as Ferran Mundó, head of Internal Services, explains: “The module is equipped with a 5.5 kW maximum flow rate pump, 520 m³/h and maximum depression of 300 mbar when we normally work with 11 to 18.5 kW pumps, with flow rates of 700 to 1200 m³/h and maximum depressions of 400 mbar”. The equipment has been installed inside a vertical, closed and ventilated two-story structure that will be anchored to the ground and whose dimensions are adapted to the available space: 2 meters long, 1 meter wide and 3 meters high. To avoid the usual noise of these systems, the entire structure has been lined with fireproof rock wool soundproofing panels.

All the equipment that makes up the set has ATEX certification and all the necessary safety measures have been integrated so that, in the event of a problem, the equipment stops automatically and sends us a telematic warning of the error, in addition to taking action against the failure,” says Mundó.

The equipment built will work 24 hours a day for two years, meeting the objectives, without causing any nuisance to the neighbors due to noise or to the site itself due to the occupation of space thanks to the ingenuity of the entire technical team.
