LITOCLEAN Peru teaches a course on environmental restoration and remediation in the hydrocarbon industry

The course presented the methodologies and techniques for remediation of contaminated sites through real cases.

LITOCLEAN Peru gave, from July 17 to 21, the course “Restoration and environmental remediation in the hydrocarbon industry”, in which they presented the most relevant aspects on the management of contaminated sites considering the current regulatory framework. The Training Resources Administration Committee (CAREC) and the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE), organizers of the training, counted on the presence of LITOCLEAN Peru as an expert in soil investigation and decontamination projects, as well as an advisor in Environment and Safety.

The course, in addition to providing the basics on environmental restoration and remediation considering the relevant aspects of national and international regulations, presented the methodologies and techniques for remediation of contaminated sites through case studies and practical examples based on real cases. At this point, the participation of the attendees was especially important, through the development of analysis and interventions as a result of the presentations. Specifically, the training was attended by professionals and technicians from the environmental area of companies in the hydrocarbon sector who are already familiar with the new Environmental Quality Standard for Soil and who wanted to deepen their knowledge.

The LITOCLEAN Peru teaching team consisted of Albert Tasias Francí, Industrial Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, MBA in Business Administration and current General Manager of TEMA’s consulting firm in Peru; Jenny Nilson, Geological Engineer by the Escuela de Caminos Canales y Puertos de Barcelona (ETSECCPB) of the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña and current Project Manager of Contaminated Soils; and Sergio Biedula, Industrial Engineer by the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa and current head of the Environmental Characterization and Remediation Area of the consulting firm in Peru.

LITOCLEAN Peru has already been part of the organizing team of the first ReLASC-NICOLE International Seminar “Management of Hydrocarbon Contaminated Sites”, an international meeting that brought together more than 250 representatives from the private, public and academic sectors from all over the world, thus establishing itself as one of the most active and specialized companies in the remediation of hydrocarbon contaminated sites.
