The Environmental Evaluation and Oversight Agency (OEFA) has ordered the development of a Rehabilitation Plan to mitigate the effects of the oil spill that occurred at the maritime terminal of La Pampilla Refinery in January 2022 and affected 71 coastal formations and the biodiversity of the territory. As part of this project, it has been agreed to install piezometers to validate the conceptual model in terms of salt wedge intrusion and the potential impact on groundwater quality.
Litoclean Peru has participated in the inspection and location of the points for the installation of these piezometers. These works were carried out from April 11 to May 9, 2023 in coordination with the Local Water Authorities of Chancay – Huaral and Chillón – Rímac – Lurín. The inspection task consisted of ocular verification of the point and its accessibility, as well as verification of the public ownership of the land and certification of the non-existence of previous installations near the point that could be affected by the installation of the piezometers. Likewise, it was verified that the installation methodology was feasible and adequate considering the characteristics of the site.
For Litoclean it is of vital importance to comply with the legal requirements for the development of our services and to achieve the proposed objectives. This is the only way to strengthen the relationship of trust with our customers and with the entities responsible for supervising the correct interaction with the environment.
