LITOCLEAN is part of the team of trainers teaching the course Specialist in groundwater and contaminated soil investigation and remediation.

The course is aimed at environmental consultants, subsoil characterization technicians, public administration technicians and environmental managers in industrial facilities.

COLGEOCAT, in collaboration with the Faculty of Geology of the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Institute of Continuing Education IL3 of the UB, organizes the fourth edition of the course “Specialist in investigation and remediation of groundwater and contaminated soils”, to be held from October 2, 2017 to May 22, 2018.

The course, in which LITOCLEAN participates as part of the teaching staff, is aimed at environmental consultants, subsoil characterization technicians, public administration technicians, environmental managers in industrial facilities and graduates in science and environmental sciences, and aims to improve the professional training of technicians working in the field of research and remediation of groundwater and contaminated soils.

The program provides a complete and comprehensive overview of the different phases of a contaminated soil and groundwater remediation process. LITOCLEAN will provide some of the training sessions with the objective of introducing the basic concepts and, in a more detailed way, to go into the planning and selection of remediation techniques, sampling protocols and the company’s experience in field work. In line with the rest of the program, the contents will be presented from an absolutely practical point of view.

The rest of the content will deal with site restoration techniques, project coordination and report writing, among others. The course will also include a final module that will include the theory presented during the six months of the course in a project to solve a practical case of investigation and restoration.

The course, with limited places, is sponsored by REPSOL and with the collaboration of the Catalan Water Agency and the Waste Agency of Catalonia.
