Background information

Subsoil contamination by hydrocarbons, halogenated compounds, sulfur compounds and arsenic from the chemical industry in three areas of 1,400, 600 and 200 m2corresponding to 7,000, 3,000 and 6,000 m3 .3 respectively.

Objective and limitations

Compliance with remediation objectives for organochlorines in groundwater, remediation groundwater, soil remediation remediation and elimination of sulfur compounds odors.

Methodology applied

Soils: soil excavation, simultaneous treatment with peroxide (neutralization of hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans) and persulfate.

Water: pumping, decanting, pH adjustment and water oxidation.

Arsenic adsorption with alumina bed.

Controlled reinfiltration of treated water.
