Methods: Excavation and chemical treatment of soils ex situ, pumping and water treatment. ex situ.
Products: TPH, BTEX, organochlorines, sulfurates and arsenic.
Background information
Subsoil contamination by hydrocarbons, halogenated compounds, sulfur compounds and arsenic from the chemical industry in three areas of 1,400, 600 and 200 m2corresponding to 7,000, 3,000 and 6,000 m3 .3 respectively.
Objective and limitations
Compliance with remediation objectives for organochlorines in groundwater, remediation groundwater, soil remediation remediation and elimination of sulfur compounds odors.
Methodology applied
Soils: soil excavation, simultaneous treatment with peroxide (neutralization of hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans) and persulfate.
Water: pumping, decanting, pH adjustment and water oxidation.
