Location:Spain

Customer:
Confidential

Methods:
Pumping and treatment, multiphase extraction and oxidant injection.

Products:
Halogenated solvents, organic industrial solvents

Background information

Plant of more than 23,000 m2 corresponding to a pharmaceutical chemical industry with subsoil affected by chlorinated solvents and industrial organic solvents in two areas of the plot.

Objective and limitations

Compliance with remediation objectives as defined by the Administration.
Differentiated treatment by zones.

Methodology applied

Southwest zone

Stages:

  1. Pumping and treatment of water with high pollutant load to reduce concentration by 2+ orders of magnitude.
  2. In situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) in saturated zone for pollutant degradation.
    Duration of two (2) years.
    Oxidizing agent: 15% sodium persulfate.

East zone

  1. Pumping and treatment of water with high pollutant load and extraction of vapors from the subsoil.
