The contract with the future of the planet to ensure a decent life<\/h2>\n\n

September 2015 marked a great milestone when, meeting in New York at the United Nations General Assembly, 193 states and leaders agreed on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.\nA contract with the future of the planet, with which they committed to ensuring a dignified life.\nA hopeful moment for the world concerned about the situation of inequalities, poverty, hunger, and the destruction of the planet. <\/p>\n\n

This agenda, consisting in 17 objectives and 169 goals, aims, in essence: to end hunger and poverty; to fight against inequalities; to ensure the well-being and health of people and communities; to respect the limits of ecosystems and the Earth; to fight against the climate change; to protect people’s rights; and to guarantee peace and access to justice and build global alliances to achieve them. <\/p>\n\n

The settled objectives consider the three dimensions of sustainability: environment, society and economy and commit all countries in the world, industrialized, emerging or developing.\nThe agenda makes it clear that responsibility is transversal and globally shared.\nFrom here, countries, institutions and different entities generated their own strategies in support of these goals. <\/p>\n\n

2023 marks 8 years from this agreement and we have already passed the midway point of our goal to achieve the final objectives.\nThis presents an excellent opportunity to examine and to re-evaluate the progress that has been made and to assess whether the objectives will be met, or if the pace of our efforts needs to be accelerated to reach the 2030 objectives. <\/p>\n\n

It is essential to recognise that unprecedented incidents such as the COVID pandemic had a huge impact on many of the agreed objectives in areas where progress had already been made.\nThis was particularly the case in Latin American and African countries.\nIn Europe, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine had both a social and economic impact throughout the whole region, endangering the energy supply to a large part of it. <\/p>\n\n

These events have taught us that there is a great need to generate a more resilient planet and have given us a new sense of urgency to implement simultaneous actions, regardless of where we are based.\nAs companies, governments official bodies or citizens, we have a responsibility to push for an acceleration in the actions being taken to reach the original 2030 objectives. <\/p>\n\n

At Litoclean we support the achievement of these objectives by playing a fundamental role in improving the quality of soil and water through decontamination work and accompanying and advising companies around the world to generate the least impact on the environment.\nWith this, we achieve a direct impact on improving people’s health and well-being conditions (SDG#3).\nLikewise, we contribute to the development and application of innovative solutions (SDG#9), promoting the talent of its human resources, favoring the reduction of inequalities (SDG#10) and taking into account gender equality protection policies at all times (SDG#5). <\/p>\n\n

For all these reasons, we celebrate this8th<\/sup> anniversary of the SDGs with the desire and willingness to work conscientiously on them to achieve the goals set in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n
